La capa superior hidrofóbica Platicoat™ de UPPF repele el agua y la suciedad, lo que facilita el lavado. Según la lámina en cuestión (las capas de brillo rinden mejor que las mate, entre otros factores), el ángulo de contacto oscila entre >90° y ≥150°, con una histéresis/ángulo de deslizamiento muy bajos.
