Global Reach

Our Asset-Light Model

For many years, UPPF was directly involved in manufacturing. As the market changed, our board of directors reached a clear decision. Today there are many coating factories in the world. Because of this, owning a factory no longer makes the film better for the customer. In 2025, after a formal board decision, UPPF completed its move to an asset-light model. We no longer own a factory. Instead, we focus on four things: the brand, the product design, the quality control, and the global distribution network.

Focus on quality, not volume.

When there are many factories, each factory must keep its machines busy. To do this, a factory often focuses on producing large quantities. Quality and research then become less important. This is one of the main reasons film quality changes from one batch to the next.

No single factory makes every product well.

Clear PPF, colored PPF, sunroof film, headlight film, and window film are all different. Each one needs different machines, different materials, and different skills. No single factory is the best at all of them. In fact, even brands that own factories buy some products from other factories to complete their range. So owning a few production lines, and building a product range around only what those lines can make, is not the best way to serve customers.

Leading brands work the same way.

Many of the most respected film brands in the world also use this model. They own the brand, the engineering, and the quality standards. They work with specialist factories to make the film. Much of the branded film sold today is made on base film from a small number of large material suppliers. Each brand then adds its own topcoat, its own adhesive, and its own quality control.

Independence lets us choose the best materials.

When UPPF was both a brand and a manufacturer, many factories saw us as a competitor. This made it harder for us to buy the best materials and to build strong partnerships. Now, as a brand that does not own a factory, we are free to choose the best material and the best factory for each product. We can also improve our choices freely as the market changes.

Our Operating Model

We do not own a factory. But we control every step that affects the quality of the film.

Premium raw materials. We buy our TPU base film and our adhesives directly from the world's leading material suppliers. These materials have the largest effect on how the film performs over many years. We always choose the best quality, even when it costs more.

Specialist production. We choose the best factory for each type of film. Each product is made with our own topcoat and adhesive systems.

Quality control in three stages. We check every order in three stages. First, we inspect the raw materials when they arrive. Second, we supervise production at the factory. Third, we test the finished film.

Independent testing. We do our standard performance tests in our own laboratory at our Shanghai office. For deeper analysis, we also work with independent, certified laboratories. These laboratories perform advanced tests, including infrared spectroscopy, NMR (nuclear magnetic resonance), and GPC (gel permeation chromatography). Most factories cannot perform these tests. They allow us to confirm that our raw materials are genuine. More importantly, they allow us to confirm that the film keeps its performance over many years. This is exactly where weaker films fail.

More investment in research. We no longer spend money on factories and machines. Instead, we invest these resources in research and development. This helps us keep improving our products as the needs of our partners change.

The Result?

UPPF is an established brand with a global network built over many years. Because of the model above, we can offer our partners and distributors a premium product range, fair prices, consistent quality, and reliable supply. We control the full supply chain, from the raw materials to the finished film. This gives our partners and distributors full confidence when they work with us.

A factory is only one part of a film. The brand, the materials, the standards, and the trust built over many years are what make the real difference. This is what UPPF provides.

Sold in 80+ countries, UPPF pairs worldwide scale with on-the-ground expertise. Our leadership has built and managed premium dealerships across 3 continents, so every program lands with dealer-grade standards, training, and support.

We design programs that start at car dealerships (BMW, Mercedes, Toyota, Honda and more) and carry through daily driving. UPPF’s dealership expertise ensures smooth onboarding, installer confidence, and happy customers globally.

Our network spans 3 continents, guided by leaders who’ve grown and managed retail sales floors, PDI partnerships, and aftersales at scale. UPPF brings big-league discipline to local teams.
